The Initial Situation
Wanted - Defined TOS tests including KPI measurement
Gulftainer required differentiated and interference-free Phase II test procedures on the terminal. AKQUINET once again provided the optimisation aid with CHESSCON - as it had already done in 2016 for Phase I emulation tests on the TOS system. CHESSCON maps the terminal operation in detail and provides reports with KPIs of the tested scenarios - for troubleshooting, training and strategic decisions at the terminal.
Three Steps to Success
Troubleshooting, training, and strategic decisions at the terminal
Step 1: An interface must be implemented – AKQUINET offers ready-made APIs for Navis Sparcs 3.7 and 4, TSB's CATOS, RBS' TOPX, and TCS' MACH. More will follow shortly.
Step 2: The yard layout needs to be drawn in the CHESSCON terminal editor. This is very simple by drawing a few rectangles to define the stacking areas, sketching the routes, trucks, and other container handling equipment. Data can be imported.
Step 3: Scenarios are loaded, which can be data from container movements on a peak day in the previous month or an assumed future situation with high terminal load. The simulation generates arriving ships and trucks at the gate and sends handling instructions to the TOS.
