CYCLEUROPE
CYCLEUROPE is part of the Grimaldi Industri Group and is one of Europe’s leading bicycle companies. Its brand portfolio includes Bianchi, Crescent, DBS, Monark, and Kildemoes, among others. The company distributes and sells its products in more than 50 countries, and its headquarters are located in Stockholm. Since acquiring a majority stake in Monark Stiga in 1995, the group has grown through the acquisition of established local bicycle brands. Consequently, the IT landscape that supports this structure today is highly complex.
Four countries. One go-live. No downtime.
Four regional subsidiaries, a timeline of less than six months, and an operation that couldn’t be shut down for even a single day: That was the starting point for CYCLEUROPE. The fact that we were able to make production, shipping, invoicing, and order entry available from the very first day after go-live without any loss of functionality demonstrates how precisely our planning and close collaboration with CYCLEUROPE meshed together.
The Initial Situation
The integrations determined the schedule
CYCLEUROPE wanted to modernize its IT landscape and migrate it to a cloud environment. The company operates through four subsidiaries in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway. Their operations could not be interrupted at any time.
The core of the challenge lay in the interfaces. The Infor ERP system was connected to legacy systems and cloud applications via a multitude of integrations. These connections had to be migrated and modernized at the same time. At the same time, the redesign of reports, documents, and printouts, as well as the implementation of a document management system, were on the agenda.
The Result
On the first day of production, all critical processes were running
A team of technical consultants worked closely with CYCLEUROPE for less than six months. Project management was handled by the AKQUINET team in Italy. The project team spanned the four Nordic CYCLEUROPE subsidiaries in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway. Coordination took place consistently across all four subsidiaries.
During this period, the following were developed:
- Migration and modernization of all key integrations to the cloud, including the connection of legacy and cloud applications
- Mobile applications to support business processes
- Custom portals tailored to CYCLEUROPE’s requirements
- Redesign of reports, documents, and printouts
- Implementation and deployment of the document management system
- Preparation and validation of the production environment
After six months, the new solution went live. Production, shipping, invoicing, and order entry were available from day one. For users, the transition was seamless: no loss of performance and no loss of functionality. In contrast, improvements in usability, processes, and system functions were noticeable from day one.
